2027: APC DEPLOYS 4.4M POLLING UNIT AGENTS FOR TINUBU’S RE-ELECTION PUSH — UZODINMA

APC DEPLOYS 4.4M POLLING UNIT AGENTS FOR TINUBU’S RE-ELECTION PUSH — UZODINMA

The All Progressives Congress (APC) says it has deployed more than 4.4 million polling unit operatives across Nigeria as part of its early mobilisation strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, disclosed this on Wednesday during a two-day national retreat held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

Uzodimma said the party had recruited a total of 4,421,150 persons spread across the country’s 176,846 polling units, describing the structure as a central part of its grassroots mobilisation framework for President Bola Tinubu’s expected re-election bid.

According to him, the mobilisation model assigns about 25 canvassers to each polling unit, forming what he described as a “structured civic force” designed to strengthen voter outreach and campaign coordination nationwide.

He said the initiative reflects a deliberate strategy to move from aspiration to organised electoral planning, adding that the party is focused on building a layered command structure extending from the national level down to polling units.

Uzodimma explained that the framework operates through multiple administrative tiers, including geopolitical zones, states, local government areas, wards, and registration areas, ensuring coordination at every level of the electoral process.

He further disclosed that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) now operate across 17 directorates covering areas such as mobilisation, media and publicity, digital communication, finance, monitoring, compliance, legal services, and data intelligence.

The governor also announced the launch of a digital platform equipped with a data communication centre designed to monitor public sentiment and counter misinformation in real time.

Describing the 2027 elections as a defining political moment, Uzodimma said the contest would serve as a referendum on whether Nigeria continues on the path of reform or changes direction.

He maintained that the current administration’s economic reforms, including subsidy removal and foreign exchange adjustments, were difficult but necessary measures aimed at long-term national stability.

Uzodimma also pointed to recent economic indicators, including reported GDP growth of 3.89 per cent in the first quarter of 2026, as evidence that ongoing reforms were beginning to yield results.

He listed several federal infrastructure projects, including major highways and industrial corridors, as part of the administration’s development achievements being communicated to citizens.

In his remarks, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda said Nigeria had recorded economic improvements under the Tinubu administration, citing increased foreign reserves, trade surplus figures, and renewed investor confidence.

He added that key multinational investors had resumed or expanded operations in Nigeria, attributing the development to improved economic fundamentals.

Yilwatda urged party mobilisers to translate government data into relatable stories that would resonate with voters at the grassroots level, stressing that policy achievements must be effectively communicated.

He also highlighted improvements in healthcare, education financing, minimum wage implementation, tax reforms, and energy initiatives as evidence of progress under the current administration.

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ retreat brought together party coordinators from across the country’s six geopolitical zones to refine campaign strategies and mobilisation frameworks ahead of the 2027 elections.

The APC stated that the platform was created to enhance civic engagement and coordinate communication of government policies at the grassroots level while countering misinformation.
