AIYEDATIWA COMMISSIONS KEY PROJECTS IN OKEIGBO, PRAISES ADEBARE FOR GRASSROOTS IMPACT
Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Thursday commissioned several major infrastructure projects in Okeigbo, Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area, applauding the local council administration for what he described as a strong commitment to grassroots development and improved living conditions for residents.
The projects, executed under the leadership of the Executive Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, Hon. Adebare Adeboye, form part of ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening economic activities and expanding access to essential public infrastructure within the community.
Among the completed projects unveiled during the commissioning ceremony were 13 newly constructed lock-up shops, a solar-powered water supply system, more than 200 open market stalls, and a 125-metre concrete road designed to improve accessibility and boost commercial activities in the area.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Adebare Adeboye said the projects reflect his administration’s commitment to delivering people-oriented governance and creating opportunities that directly improve the welfare of residents across the local government area.
He stated that the successful completion of the projects was made possible through collaboration between members of the local government council, administrative staff, and the support provided by the Ondo State Government, particularly the enabling environment created by Governor Aiyedatiwa for local councils to operate effectively.
The council chairman also urged residents of Okeigbo to make proper use of the newly delivered facilities while ensuring adequate maintenance to preserve the infrastructure for long-term community benefit.
In his remarks, Governor Aiyedatiwa described Hon. Adebare Adeboye as a dedicated leader whose efforts toward community development have continued to attract positive attention within the state.
Represented at the event by the Ondo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Amidu Takuro, the governor noted that the local government chairman has demonstrated effective leadership by initiating projects with direct impact on the everyday lives of residents.
According to the governor, the newly commissioned infrastructure will contribute significantly to improving living standards, supporting local businesses, and encouraging sustainable development within Okeigbo and neighboring communities.
He further reaffirmed the commitment of the Ondo State Government to expanding development across all communities through strategic investments in infrastructure, security enhancement, economic empowerment initiatives, and policies designed to improve the welfare of citizens.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also called on communities across the state to actively support development initiatives, stressing that collaboration between government and residents remains essential for sustainable progress.
The governor referenced recent community-driven development achievements in Ile-Oluji, where infrastructure projects valued at over one billion naira were successfully delivered through strong partnership between government and community stakeholders.
He reiterated that his administration remains focused on accelerating industrial growth, strengthening grassroots governance, and implementing development policies capable of transforming local communities across Ondo State.
The event attracted several prominent dignitaries, including the Olu Oke of Okeigbo Kingdom, Oba Felix Akintoye Adeoye, political leaders, traditional rulers from neighboring communities, local government officials, religious leaders, community stakeholders, and other invited guests who gathered to witness the commissioning ceremony.
