The Executive Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area, Hon. Adebare Adeboye, has been honoured with the Best Performing Council Chairman on Infrastructure in Ondo State award at the 2026 Rootswatch Magazine Local Government Chairmen Merit Awards held in Abuja on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The award, presented during a ceremony attended by public officials, stakeholders, and local government administrators from across the country, recognized Hon. Adebare’s contributions to infrastructure development and grassroots governance in Ondo State.

According to the organizers, the selection followed a comprehensive nomination, screening, and assessment process involving the evaluation of infrastructural projects and developmental initiatives executed by local government administrations across the state. Following the review, Hon. Adebare emerged as the highest-rated chairman in the infrastructure category among the 18 local government chairmen in Ondo State.

Rootswatch Magazine stated that the assessment considered project impact, sustainability, community benefits, and commitment to development at the grassroots level. The organizers noted that the award was a reflection of the infrastructural strides recorded in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government under Adebare’s leadership.

Since assuming office, the council chairman has overseen several development initiatives aimed at improving public infrastructure, enhancing service delivery, and creating a more conducive environment for residents. His administration has consistently emphasized projects designed to support long-term growth and improve the quality of life within the local government area.

Observers have attributed the recognition to Adebare’s experience in local government administration and his commitment to translating policies into visible developmental outcomes. Prior to becoming chairman, he served in various leadership capacities within the local government system, including as Supervisory Councillor, Vice Chairman, and Chairman of a Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

The award also highlights the growing attention being given to grassroots development initiatives under ongoing efforts to strengthen local governance and public service delivery across the country.

Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Hon. Adebare expressed gratitude to the people of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo for their support and confidence in his administration. He dedicated the recognition to residents of the local government area and pledged to intensify efforts toward delivering more impactful projects and people-centered programmes.

“This award belongs to the good people of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo whose support and cooperation have made our achievements possible. It will serve as additional motivation for us to do more in delivering meaningful development and improving the lives of our people,” he said.
