IRELAND ANNOUNCES FULLY FUNDED MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIP FOR NIGERIANS, APPLICATIONS OPEN JUNE 29

The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has announced the opening of applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme, giving qualified Nigerians the opportunity to study for a fully funded Master’s degree in Ireland.

According to information released on Friday, applications for the scholarship programme will officially open on Monday, June 29, 2026, with eligible candidates invited to apply through the official programme portal.

The Ireland Fellows Programme is designed for early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana who are interested in pursuing a one-year Master’s degree at leading universities in Ireland.

In an official statement shared via its social media platform, the Embassy of Ireland encouraged interested applicants to take advantage of the opportunity.

The statement noted that successful candidates will receive full scholarship funding covering tuition fees, monthly living allowance, accommodation support, visa processing, flight expenses, and health insurance throughout the duration of study.

To qualify, applicants must be citizens and residents of either Nigeria or Ghana, possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least a Second Class Lower division, and have a minimum of three years of relevant professional work experience.

For Nigerian applicants, the programme also includes the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, a specialized scholarship focused on postgraduate programmes in Law, Human Rights, and Governance.

The fellowship is part of Ireland’s educational partnership initiative aimed at strengthening professional capacity development and expanding international academic collaboration with African countries.

Officials said interested applicants are expected to carefully review programme requirements and complete their applications online through the official scholarship website.

Applications will remain open from June 29, 2026, until July 26, 2026.

Prospective applicants can submit applications through the official portal: https://irelandfellows.africa/

The announcement is expected to generate significant interest among Nigerian graduates and professionals seeking international postgraduate education opportunities through fully funded scholarship programmes.

Education experts say such opportunities continue to provide valuable pathways for professional development, global exposure, and advanced academic training for young professionals across Africa.
