FEDPOLEL SHINES AS FORMER RECTOR BAGS PRESTIGIOUS CHIEFTAINCY TITLE AT ILE-OLUJI ROYAL CELEBRATION


A delegation from the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji (FEDPOLEL) joined dignitaries and prominent personalities at the grand finale of the 10th Coronation Anniversary celebration of His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Oluwole Olufaderin Adetimehin, Jimoko II, the Jegun Olu-Ekun and Paramount Ruler of Ile-Oluji Kingdom.

The anniversary celebration, held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Civic Centre in Ile-Oluji, attracted several distinguished guests from different sectors, including the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami, alongside traditional rulers and respected community leaders from within and outside the kingdom.

One of the major highlights of the event was the conferment of honorary chieftaincy titles on selected individuals recognized for their outstanding contributions to the development of the community and society at large.

Among those honoured was the pioneer Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Prof. Emmanuel Adedayo Fasakin, who served from 2015 to 2023. He was conferred with the prestigious traditional title of Bobajiro Eko of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, in recognition of his contributions and service.

The institution’s delegation turned out in large numbers, reflecting solidarity with the royal institution while celebrating the recognition bestowed on its former Rector.

Representing the Polytechnic at the event were Chairman of the Governing Council, Hon. Barr. Mercy Ademubowale Adelabu; Rector, Dr. Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku; Deputy Rector, Dr. Samson Adehuga Omogbehin; Bursar, Mr. Sehinde Ebenezer Olabode; and Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Fasa Rachael Aladeniyi.

Other members of the delegation included Director of Physical Planning, Tpl. Adewale Victor Tobashe; Director of Research, Development and Innovation, Dr. Olanrewaju Victor Johnson; Acting Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Ademola Adewumi; Deputy Registrar, Division of Information, Protocol and Passages, Mr. Sanmi Enigbokan; Head of Department, Business Administration and Management, Mrs. Kudirat Folorunso; Senior Assistant Registrar, Rector’s Office, Mr. Festus Ogunruku; Head of Legal Unit, Barr. Adebimpe Adewoye, alongside other staff members of the institution.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the reign of the monarch, celebrating a decade of traditional leadership and community development in Ile-Oluji Kingdom, while also strengthening the bond between the institution and the host community.
