ILE-OLUJI-BORN SEGUN ODUSANYA EMERGES ONDO STATE HEAD OF SERVICE AS AIYEDATIWA APPROVES APPOINTMENT
Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has approved the appointment of Ile-Oluji-born administrator, Chief Segun Odusanya, as the new Head of Service of Ondo State, effective June 6, 2026.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Friday.
Chief Odusanya succeeds Mr. Bayo Philips, who has retired from the Ondo State Public Service after years of service to the state. Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions to governance and public sector development, wishing him success in his future endeavors.
The governor also charged the newly appointed Head of Service to deploy his extensive experience and expertise toward advancing the goals of the administration's OUR EASE Agenda and strengthening service delivery across the state.
Distinguished Public Service Career
Born on February 6, 1967, Chief Segun Odusanya hails from Ile-Oluji in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State. He is the son of the late Venerable and Mrs. Emmanuel Odusanya.
He began his educational journey at St. Peter’s Primary School, Ile-Oluji, before attending Gboluji Anglican Grammar School, where he completed his secondary education.
Odusanya later attended Obafemi Awolowo University (formerly University of Ife), earning a Bachelor of Agriculture (B.Agric.) degree in 1989. He subsequently obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Studies (PGDMS) from the same institution in 1992.
Driven by a commitment to professional growth, he earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Ado-Ekiti in 2000.
Three Decades of Experience
Chief Odusanya joined the Ondo State Public Service in September 1995 and has built an impressive career spanning more than three decades.
In 2019, he was appointed a Permanent Secretary and has since served in several strategic ministries and government agencies, including:
Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs
Ondo State Civil Service Commission
Ministry of Transport
Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry
Until his latest appointment, he served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and also held the position of Chairman of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries in Ondo State.

The new Head of Service is a respected member of several professional bodies and holds fellowships from notable institutions, including:

He is married to Lady Oluwatoyin Odusanya, and the union is blessed with three children.
The appointment places another seasoned technocrat at the helm of the Ondo State Public Service as the government seeks to strengthen administrative efficiency and improve service delivery to residents.
