ILE-OLUJI KINGDOM CELEBRATES IN GRANDEUR AS OBA JIMOKO II MARKS 10TH CORONATION ANNIVERSARY
The ancient town of Ile-Oluji in Ondo State came alive on Saturday, June 13, 2026, as His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Oluwole Olufaderin Adetimehin, Fiin, FCIB, JP, Jimoko II, Jegun Olu-Ekun and Paramount Ruler of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, marked his 10th Coronation Anniversary in a grand celebration attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and distinguished personalities from across Nigeria.
The milestone celebration, which drew widespread attention within and beyond Ondo State, concluded a 10-day anniversary programme carefully organized to commemorate the monarch’s decade-long reign, widely regarded by many residents as a period of peace, development, and cultural advancement in the kingdom.
Activities lined up for the anniversary included a press conference, football competition, project commissioning ceremonies, community engagement programmes, and several cultural displays aimed at celebrating the rich heritage of Ile-Oluji Kingdom while reflecting on the achievements recorded during the monarch’s reign.
The grand finale, held on Saturday, featured a colourful ceremony where traditional titles were conferred on selected dignitaries, alongside the presentation of special awards to individuals recognized for their contributions to community development and service to humanity.
The event attracted several high-profile personalities from government institutions and public service circles. Among those in attendance were the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Owolabi Adelami; Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Olaolu Akindolire; Hon. Rasaq Obe; Chief Segun Odusanya; Ondo State Head of Service; Hon. Adebare Adeboye, Executive Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government; and Hon. Nelson Akinsuroju, Member representing Ile-Oluji /Okeigbo state constituency constituency in the Ondo State House of Assembly.
The occasion also witnessed the gathering of respected traditional rulers from different parts of the country who joined in honouring the monarch on the historic celebration.
Among the royal fathers present were the Olowo of Owo Kingdom, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye II; Oluoke of Okeigbo, Oba (Barr.) Akintoye Felix Adeoye; representatives of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II; alongside several other prominent traditional rulers from across the region.
A major highlight of the event was the conferment of honorary traditional titles on notable personalities, including Professor Emmanuel Adedayo Fasakin, pioneer and former Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, who was recognised for his remarkable contributions to education and institutional development.
Residents, guests, and well-wishers described the celebration as a reflection of the monarch’s influence, leadership strength, and the deep respect he commands both within Ile-Oluji Kingdom and across Nigeria.
As Oba Jimoko II celebrates ten years on the throne, many observers say the anniversary stands as a significant moment in the history of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, marking a decade of royal leadership dedicated to unity, cultural preservation, and community development.
