AGAGU, SOWORE TAKE CHARGE OF APC’S ONDO SOUTH BYE-ELECTION BATTLE


The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted a 128-member Campaign Council to coordinate its activities ahead of the Ondo South Senatorial Bye-Election scheduled for June 20, 2026.

The party announced that former Commissioner for Finance, Femi Agagu, will serve as Chairman of the Campaign Council, while legal practitioner and political strategist, Barrister Allen Sowore, has been appointed Secretary.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Kayode Muyide.

According to the party, the council has been tasked with driving grassroots mobilization, coordinating campaign activities, and ensuring effective engagement with voters across the six local government areas that make up the Ondo South Senatorial District.

The APC also named High Chief Biboppre Ajube and Prince Olu Falolu as Co-Chairmen of the council, while several party leaders and stakeholders were included as members.

The party expressed confidence in the ability of Agagu, Sowore, and other members of the council to deliver a successful campaign ahead of the poll.




It further revealed that additional sub-committees would be constituted in the coming days to oversee specific aspects of the campaign and strengthen coordination across the senatorial district.

The Ondo South Senatorial seat became vacant following the appointment of former Senator Jimoh Ibrahim to a diplomatic position, creating the need for a bye-election to fill the vacant seat.

With preparations intensifying ahead of the June 20 election, political parties have continued to strengthen their campaign structures as they seek to secure victory in one of the state's most closely watched electoral contests.
