Businessman and social commentator, Isaac Fayose, has rewarded an Ekiti-based woman with ₦1 million after she reportedly rejected an alleged ₦15,000 offer to sell her vote during a recent political engagement.

The woman was said to have declined the offer made by unidentified individuals linked to a political party, insisting on her decision not to compromise her vote. Her action later gained public attention after the story circulated online.

Following the development, Fayose publicly praised the woman for what he described as an act of integrity and civic responsibility, stating that he was encouraged by her refusal to participate in vote trading.

He subsequently announced a cash reward of ₦1 million for her, describing her as an example of electoral discipline and moral courage that should be encouraged in the political space.

The gesture has since generated mixed reactions across social media, with many users commending the woman’s stance against vote buying, while others raised broader concerns about the prevalence of inducement during elections in Nigeria.

Electoral observers have repeatedly warned that vote buying remains a challenge in Nigeria’s democratic process, urging voters to resist financial inducements and prioritize issue-based participation during elections.
