FG CLARIFIES DRESS CODE REQUIREMENTS FOR NSCDC, IMMIGRATION, FIRE SERVICE RECRUITMENT SCREENING

The Federal Government has clarified concerns surrounding the dress code for candidates participating in the upcoming medical screening exercise for the 2025 recruitment process into key paramilitary agencies under the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

In an official notice issued on Friday, the board announced that there is no approved or mandatory dress code for applicants expected to participate in the medical screening exercise scheduled to commence on Monday, June 22, 2026.

The clarification comes amid circulating reports and messages allegedly instructing candidates to appear in specific outfits for the exercise.

According to the board, applicants seeking employment opportunities into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), and Federal Fire Service (FFS) are only required to attend the screening in normal and decent attire.

The board emphasized that candidates should disregard any misleading information directing them to wear a particular dress code, stressing that no such directive has been issued by the recruitment authorities.

Authorities also stated that applicants are not expected to come with their credentials, explaining that document verification will not be conducted during the medical screening phase.

Officials urged all shortlisted candidates to rely solely on information released through official government communication channels and avoid falling victim to misinformation being circulated online.

The nationwide medical screening exercise follows an earlier verification process conducted between June 15 and June 20, 2026, during which shortlisted applicants were required to confirm their status and select their preferred screening dates and venues through the official recruitment portal.

The 2025 recruitment exercise reportedly attracted significant national interest, with more than 1.9 million applications submitted across the country.

Following the initial selection process, approximately 1.12 million applicants advanced to the Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted in November 2025, while thousands of candidates have now been shortlisted for the final medical screening phase.

The Federal Government has wished all applicants success as the recruitment exercise enters its final stages.
