ILE-OLUJI UNVEILS MULTI-BILLION-NAIRA COMMUNITY PROJECTS AS JIMOKO II MARKS 10 YEARS ON THRONE

ILE-OLUJI, ONDO STATE — The Ile-Oluji Kingdom has announced that several community-driven development projects worth billions of naira have been successfully executed through contributions from sons and daughters of the community, without direct government funding.

The disclosure was made by the Lisa and Traditional Prime Minister of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, High Chief Johnson Fagbamiye, during a press conference held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the palace of the Jegun of Ile-Oluji, Oba (Dr.) Julius Oluwole Olufaderin Adetimehin, Jimoko II, as part of activities marking the monarch’s 10th Coronation Anniversary.

Addressing journalists and stakeholders, High Chief Fagbamiye stated that the kingdom has recorded significant developmental strides through collective efforts and financial support from its indigenes both at home and abroad.

According to him, community-funded initiatives have covered various sectors, including economic empowerment, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and electricity.

He listed some of the projects to include empowerment programmes for market women and farmers, scholarship schemes for students, periodic grading of roads within the community using a community-owned grader, and the procurement and installation of a 10MVA 33/11KV transformer, which he said cost over ₦750 million.

The Lisa emphasized that the projects were financed largely through community contributions, reflecting the unity, commitment, and development-oriented vision of the people of Ile-Oluji.

> “The achievements recorded in Ile-Oluji are a testimony to what a united community can accomplish. Many of these projects were funded by our sons and daughters without direct government intervention,” he said.

While highlighting community achievements, High Chief Fagbamiye also acknowledged ongoing government projects within the kingdom.

He specifically mentioned the ongoing dualisation project from the Asio area through Brunelli axis of Ile-Oluji, describing it as a Federal Government project being executed through the Ministry of Sustainable Development Goals.

He further noted that the Ondo State Government has commenced the construction of the Ile-Oluji–Okeigbo Road, particularly along the Gloryfield International College corridor, in collaboration with the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), alongside other road infrastructure projects in the area.



Speaking on the significance of the anniversary, the traditional prime minister said the celebration goes beyond marking a decade on the throne of Oba Adetimehin.

According to him, the event is an opportunity to celebrate the resilience, unity, peace, and developmental progress that have characterized the kingdom during the monarch’s reign.

He outlined the programme of events, noting that activities commenced on Friday, June 5, 2026, with prayers and public announcements and will culminate on Sunday, June 14, 2026, with a thanksgiving service scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Ile-Oluji.

Also speaking at the press conference, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee and Aro of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, Oloye Akinsola Akinfemiwa, OON, assured residents and visitors that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a peaceful and successful celebration.

Akinfemiwa stated that security remains a major priority for the kingdom, adding that proactive measures have consistently been adopted to safeguard lives and property.

> “All necessary steps have been taken to guarantee adequate security throughout the anniversary period. The kingdom has always treated security as a priority, and we will continue to do so before, during, and after the celebrations,” he said.

He expressed confidence that residents and visitors would enjoy a safe environment throughout the anniversary events.

The press conference attracted a large gathering of stakeholders, including prominent sons and daughters of Ile-Oluji, members of the traditional council, High chiefs, members of the Central Planning Committee and its various subcommittees, media representatives, and other well-wishers.

The 10th Coronation Anniversary of Oba (Dr.) Julius Oluwole Olufaderin Adetimehin, Jomoko II, is expected to feature cultural, religious, and community development activities aimed at celebrating a decade of traditional leadership and progress in Ile-Oluji Kingdom.
