ROTIMI CANADA INCLUDED AS APC MOBILISATION STRUCTURE EXPANDS AHEAD OF ONDO SOUTH SENATE BYE-ELECTION
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has continued its mobilisation drive ahead of the Ondo South Senatorial District bye-election scheduled for June 20, 2026, with its broader campaign structure drawing in key party stakeholders and candidates across different levels.
Among those listed within the party’s expanded mobilisation framework is Hon. Rotimi Akinwamide, popularly known as “Rotimi Canada,” who is also the APC candidate for the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo State House of Assembly seat.
Akinwamide, whose name appears as number 76 on the APC Ondo South Senate campaign list of House of Assembly is being positioned within the party’s wider grassroots coordination structure as preparations intensify for the senatorial poll.
Party insiders say the inclusion of candidates across different constituencies is part of APC’s strategy to strengthen grassroots engagement, improve coordination, and ensure broad-based participation in its campaign activities ahead of the bye-election.
The Ondo South senatorial seat became vacant following the appointment of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as an ambassador, prompting the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to schedule the bye-election.
As campaign activities gather momentum, stakeholders within the party continue to play roles in mobilisation efforts across local government areas, with emphasis on unity and strategic coordination.
Akinwamide’s presence in the structure further reflects the APC’s approach of integrating 2027 general election candidates into broader campaign planning as part of its election preparedness framework in Ondo State.
