OGUN POLICE COMMAND PROMOTES 430 OFFICERS AS CP OJAJUNI APPLAUDS IGP DISU’S WELFARE REFORMS
The Ogun State Police Command has decorated 430 newly promoted junior police officers, a move described as part of ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to improve personnel welfare, motivation, and career development.
The decoration ceremony was conducted across the Command’s headquarters and various formations within Ogun State under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni. The exercise followed the recent promotion of officers approved by the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the Command, the promoted officers include six Sergeants elevated to the rank of Inspector, four Corporals promoted to Sergeant, and 420 Constables advanced to the rank of Corporal.
Speaking during the ceremony, CP Ojajuni said the promotions reflect the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to enhancing the welfare and professional growth of police personnel nationwide.
He noted that timely promotion remains an important strategy for boosting morale, encouraging dedication to duty, and strengthening the operational effectiveness of the Force.
The Commissioner congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to view their elevation as a call to greater responsibility and service. He emphasized the need for professionalism, discipline, integrity, and adherence to the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.
CP Ojajuni also encouraged the officers to remain committed to protecting lives and property while respecting human rights and upholding the rule of law in the discharge of their duties.
He reaffirmed the Ogun State Police Command’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at improving officers’ welfare, strengthening institutional capacity, and enhancing service delivery in line with modern policing standards and global best practices.
The promotion exercise is part of broader efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to recognize outstanding service and reward personnel for their dedication and contributions to public safety and national security.
