ONDO GOVERNMENT OPENS REGISTRATION FOR SECOND PHASE OF O’DATIWA WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME


The Ondo State Government has officially commenced registration for the second phase of its women empowerment initiative, O’DATIWA Skill Up A Woman Programme, aimed at equipping women across the state with vocational and entrepreneurial skills for economic independence.

The initiative, coordinated through the Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs, is designed to provide free professional training opportunities for 500 women selected across different parts of the state.

According to the announcement, the six-month training programme will focus on several high-demand skill areas including hairdressing, catering, bead making, fashion designing, makeup artistry, event decoration, and digital entrepreneurship, among others.

Training centres have been designated in multiple locations across the state including Akure, Ilaje, Owo, Ondo, Ikare Akoko, Ifedore, and Irele, to ensure accessibility for participants from various local government areas.

State officials said the programme forms part of the administration’s broader commitment to promoting women’s economic empowerment, reducing unemployment, and supporting small-scale enterprise development.

Interested applicants have been encouraged to register early as the programme is expected to attract significant participation from women seeking to improve their livelihoods through practical vocational training.
