President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended members of Nigeria’s Armed Forces and other security agencies for their commitment, courage, and sacrifices in the ongoing fight against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats across the country.
In a message addressed to frontline security personnel, the President described the nation’s troops as a vital shield protecting innocent citizens from those seeking to undermine peace, safety, and national stability.
According to Tinubu, security operatives continue to carry out their duties in challenging environments, including forests, highways, waterways, and remote operational areas, ensuring that millions of Nigerians can go about their daily activities without fear.
“This fight has not been easy. It has come with pain, pressure, and sacrifice. But your courage has remained firm. Your service is acknowledged. Your sacrifice is honoured,” the President stated.
He extended appreciation to officers and personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), intelligence agencies, and other security formations working to safeguard the country.
President Tinubu also paid tribute to the families of security personnel, noting that many endure long periods of separation, uncertainty, and emotional strain as their loved ones serve the nation.
The President further honoured security officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, describing their sacrifices as invaluable contributions to the protection of communities and the preservation of national unity.
He emphasized that combating terrorism and other forms of violent crime is not solely the responsibility of security agencies but requires active support from citizens through the provision of credible and timely information.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities capable of threatening public safety.
Reaffirming the government's commitment to national security, the President declared that Nigeria would not yield to fear or allow terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and violent extremists to define the nation's future.
He expressed confidence that with sustained cooperation between citizens and security agencies, the country would continue to make progress in confronting security challenges and preserving peace.
The President concluded by offering prayers for the safety and protection of all personnel serving on the front lines of Nigeria’s security operations.
