POROYE DECLARES WAR ON APC CRISIS, VOWS TO REUNITE PARTY AND END INTERNAL COURT BATTLES


The Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye, has pledged to reconcile aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), facilitate the resolution of pending internal disputes, and strengthen the party's unity following his inauguration as Chairman of the Ondo State APC 10-member Reconciliation Committee.

Prince Poroye made the commitment on Monday after the committee was inaugurated at the APC State Secretariat in Akure by the Ondo State APC Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Kolawole.

The committee was constituted to address grievances arising from the recently concluded ward, local government and state congresses, as well as the State and National Assembly primary elections, with the aim of promoting unity and preparing the party for future electoral contests.

Speaking after the inauguration, Poroye expressed appreciation to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the APC leadership at both the state and national levels, Hon. Babatunde Kolawole and other party stakeholders for the confidence reposed in the committee.

He described the assignment as a significant responsibility and assured party members that the reconciliation process would be guided by fairness, sincerity and inclusiveness.

According to him, every aggrieved member would be given an opportunity to air their concerns, particularly those dissatisfied with the outcomes of the party's congresses and primary elections.

He also said the committee would engage members who feel marginalised over appointments or other party-related concerns, noting that restoring confidence and strengthening members' sense of belonging would remain a priority.

Poroye further disclosed that the committee would engage party members who have instituted legal actions against the APC with the objective of achieving amicable resolutions and encouraging the withdrawal of pending court cases.

He said the committee's mandate is to rebuild trust among party stakeholders, promote lasting peace and reposition the APC as a stronger and more united political platform.

Expressing optimism about the party's electoral prospects, Poroye said he was confident the APC would work towards retaining its seats in the Ondo State House of Assembly, securing victories in the National Assembly elections and mobilising broad support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in future elections.

Earlier, the Ondo State APC Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Kolawole, described post-primary grievances as a common feature of democratic politics, stressing that reconciliation remains essential to sustaining party unity after internal contests.

Kolawole reaffirmed the party's commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while expressing confidence in the leadership of Prince Poroye and the experience of other committee members to deliver on the reconciliation assignment.

The reconciliation committee comprises Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye (Chairman), Chief Jamiu Ekungba, Rtd. Capt. Vincent Oyepata, Mr. Kenneth Odusola, Erelu Modupe Martins, Hon. Babatunde Okeyomi, Yeyeoge Funmilayo Oluwadare, Hon. Mohammed Olawale Mutiu, Dr. (Mrs.) Jumoke Aborode, and Engr. Bamidele Olanubi as Secretary.
