AKEREDOLU AT 70: REMEMBERING THE COURAGE, LEGACY OF ONDO'S LATE GOVERNOR


As family, friends, political associates, and admirers commemorate what would have been the 70th birthday of the late former Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, tributes have continued to pour in, celebrating his enduring legacy of courageous leadership and service.

In a tribute titled "In Honour of a Titan at 70," Sam Akinwale described the late governor as a fearless patriot whose impact on Ondo State and the South-West region remains significant even after his passing.

According to Akinwale, Akeredolu distinguished himself as a leader who confronted insecurity with courage at a time when many remained silent. He noted that the former governor considered the protection of lives and property a fundamental responsibility and demonstrated unwavering commitment to the safety of the people.

The tribute highlighted the establishment of the South-West Security Network, codenamed Amotekun Corps, as one of Akeredolu's most enduring achievements. The initiative was described as a landmark effort that strengthened community-based security and reinforced regional collaboration in addressing security challenges across the South-West.

Akinwale further stated that Akeredolu's administration reflected values of integrity, justice, and selfless public service, adding that his leadership continues to serve as a source of inspiration for present and future leaders.

He also noted that the late governor's contributions to governance, security, and the advancement of true federalism have secured him a lasting place in the history of Ondo State and Nigeria.

While acknowledging that Akeredolu is no longer alive, the tribute maintained that his principles, achievements, and institutions remain a lasting testament to his dedication to public service.

The tribute concluded with prayers for the peaceful repose of the late governor's soul while expressing hope that his legacy would continue to inspire generations.
