APC MOVES TO HEAL RIFTS, INAUGURATES RECONCILIATION COMMITTEE AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has inaugurated a Reconciliation Committee to address grievances arising from the party's recent primary elections and the list of candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The initiative is aimed at resolving internal disputes, strengthening party unity, and positioning the APC for the forthcoming elections.

Ondo State APC Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Kolawole, announced the decision during an unscheduled visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Akure.

According to Kolawole, the Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Biyi Poroye, has been appointed to lead the reconciliation committee.

He explained that the committee will engage aggrieved aspirants, party members, and other stakeholders who may be dissatisfied with the outcome of the party's primaries or the emergence of candidates for the 2027 elections.

Kolawole said the committee's assignment is part of the APC's commitment to promoting unity and ensuring that internal disagreements do not affect the party's chances at the polls.

He noted that reconciliation remains an important process after every primary election and urged members to place the collective interest of the party above individual ambitions.

The APC chairman also used the visit to interact with journalists and clarify the party's position on issues surrounding its internal affairs.

Political observers have closely monitored developments within the Ondo APC following the conclusion of its primaries, with attention focused on how the party intends to manage disagreements ahead of the general elections.

The newly constituted committee is expected to meet with key stakeholders across the state, rebuild confidence among party members, and foster dialogue aimed at strengthening cohesion within the party.

The APC leadership expressed confidence that the reconciliation process will help resolve outstanding issues and reinforce the party's preparedness for the 2027 general elections.
