KATSINA GOVT TAKES 2027 BUDGET CONSULTATIONS TO ALL 361 WARDS

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has launched the 2027 Budget Formulation Town Hall Meetings across the state's 361 political wards, calling on residents to actively participate in identifying and prioritising projects that address the needs of their communities.
The exercise was officially flagged off on Saturday at Radda Ward in Charanchi Local Government Area. According to the governor, grassroots participation remains essential for sustainable development and ensuring that government policies reflect the aspirations of the people.
In a statement shared on his verified X account, Radda said the town hall meetings are designed to give citizens a direct opportunity to contribute to the planning and development priorities of their communities.
He stressed that sustainable development can only be achieved when citizens are actively involved in identifying their needs, setting priorities, and influencing decisions that affect their lives.
The governor noted that the success of the state's first ward-level budget consultations demonstrated the value of involving residents in governance. He said many ongoing projects in education, healthcare, agriculture, water supply, infrastructure, youth empowerment, social protection, and security support were inspired by recommendations received from previous consultations.
Speaking on the 2027 budget consultations, themed "Building Your Future IV," Radda encouraged residents to participate honestly, constructively, and responsibly by identifying projects that would have lasting impact on their communities.
He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to participatory governance, stating that the government would continue to place citizens at the centre of its planning and budgeting process.
According to the governor, every community deserves to be heard, adding that every voice matters in shaping the state's development agenda.
The Katsina State Government introduced ward-level budget consultations to deepen participatory governance and ensure that public spending aligns with the priorities of local communities. The initiative allows residents across all 361 wards to contribute directly to the annual budgeting process, with their feedback helping to guide project selection and implementation.
