AIYEDATIWA BOOSTS POWER SUPPLY AS ONDO BEGINS DISTRIBUTION OF TRANSFORMERS TO COMMUNITIES
The Ondo State Government has commenced the first phase of the distribution of electricity transformers to communities across the state's three senatorial districts in a move aimed at improving electricity supply, reducing power outages, and supporting economic growth.
The initiative forms part of the administration's efforts to strengthen power infrastructure and expand access to reliable electricity for residents and businesses across Ondo State.
According to the state government, the transformers being distributed are of different capacities, including 100KVA 11KV/415V, 300KVA 11KV/415V, and 500KVA 11KV and 33KV/415V, to meet the varying electricity needs of beneficiary communities.
Speaking during the formal handover ceremony held at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in Akure, the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Engr. (Dr.) Johnson Alabi, said the distribution marks the beginning of a broader effort by the state government to improve electricity infrastructure and provide more stable power supply across Ondo State.
Representatives of the beneficiary communities were present at the event to receive the transformers on behalf of their respective communities.
The state government noted that the initiative reflects the commitment of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa's administration to addressing critical infrastructure challenges, supporting local businesses, enhancing productivity, and creating an enabling environment for sustainable economic development.
The government expressed confidence that the distribution of the transformers would improve access to electricity in the affected communities, promote commercial activities, and contribute to better living conditions for residents across the state.
