FAKE N44M ALLEGATION: OSEYF WARNS AGAINST SPREAD OF UNVERIFIED CLAIMS, URGES CALM IN ONDO
The Ondo State Elegant Youths Forum (OSEYF) has cautioned against the spread of unverified reports surrounding the alleged N44 million scandal in Ondo State, urging media organisations and political actors to avoid actions capable of creating unnecessary tension.
In a statement, the forum called on Sahara Reporters and other media platforms to uphold the principles of responsible journalism by verifying information before publication and avoiding sensational reports that could mislead the public or inflame political tensions.
OSEYF also warned against what it described as attempts by disgruntled politicians or members of the Ondo State House of Assembly to exploit the aftermath of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket process to create division within the state. According to the group, not securing a return ticket is part of the democratic process and should not be used as a basis for actions capable of disrupting the peace and stability of Ondo State, including ongoing political contestations over the Speakership position.
The forum reaffirmed its support for the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, stating that it would continue to oppose any act of political desperation or personal interest that could undermine the collective progress of the state.
OSEYF, however, maintained that any individual found guilty of corruption or misconduct through due legal and constitutional processes should be held accountable in accordance with the law.
The group concluded by urging residents of Ondo State to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and committed to preserving the state's unity, stability, and development, while encouraging all stakeholders to allow due process to prevail in addressing any allegations of wrongdoing.
