GOVERNORS REAFFIRM COMMITMENT TO NG-CARES, SOLID AND HOPE PROGRAMMES AS ADENUGBA HAILS RENEWED HOPE AGENDA


Hon. Chief Lawrence Adenugba, popularly known as Parie, has praised the commitment of Nigeria's 36 state governors to the implementation of the NG-CARES Additional Financing, SOLID and HOPE programmes, describing the initiatives as key steps toward advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The renewed commitment was reaffirmed during the official launch of the three development programmes on Thursday. At the event, the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF) and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, was represented by the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

Speaking on behalf of the governors, AbdulRazaq said the programmes are designed to strengthen governance, improve public service delivery, protect vulnerable households, build human capital and enhance the resilience of states across Nigeria.

He stated that the initiatives align with President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda by ensuring that ongoing economic reforms translate into meaningful benefits for citizens through stronger institutions, improved public services and inclusive economic growth.

The NGF Chairman also acknowledged the World Bank for its continued partnership with Nigeria, noting its support in strengthening public financial management, expanding social protection initiatives, promoting agricultural productivity and improving institutional accountability across the states.

According to him, the NG-CARES Additional Financing, SOLID and HOPE programmes demonstrate the impact of collaboration between the Federal Government, state governments and development partners, with a focus on transparency, accountability and measurable results.

Reacting to the development, Hon. Chief Lawrence Adenugba (Parie) described the programmes as strategic interventions capable of accelerating inclusive growth, reducing poverty and improving the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians if effectively implemented.


He expressed confidence that sustained collaboration among the Federal Government, state governments and international development partners would strengthen institutional capacity and promote sustainable socio-economic development nationwide.

The governors also reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the Federal Government, the World Bank and other development partners to ensure the successful implementation of the programmes and the delivery of lasting benefits to Nigerians.
