APC SET TO OFFICIALLY UNVEIL TINUBU'S RUNNING MATE


The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to officially unveil Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's running mate for the 2027 presidential election.

The announcement is expected to be made following a meeting of the party's National Working Committee (NWC) and other top APC leaders currently taking place at the Continental Hotel in Abuja.

The development comes after months of speculation suggesting that President Tinubu could replace Shettima with a northern Christian as his vice-presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general election.

According to senior APC officials at the venue, President Tinubu has reaffirmed his confidence in Shettima by retaining him as his preferred running mate for the next presidential election. The party is expected to formally announce the decision after the ongoing meeting.

The confirmation is expected to put to rest widespread rumours over the vice-presidential slot and signal the APC's early preparations for the 2027 presidential race.
