GOVERNOR SEYI MAKINDE VISITS RESCUED OYO PUPILS, TEACHERS IN IBADAN, PLEDGES FULL SUPPORT FOR THEIR RECOVERY
Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has visited the pupils and teachers who were recently rescued after spending more than 60 days in captivity following their abduction in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor visited the victims at the medical facility in Ibadan, where they are currently receiving treatment, assuring them of the state government's unwavering commitment to their care, rehabilitation, and safe reunification with their families.
Governor Makinde stated that the government would continue to provide all the necessary medical, psychological, and welfare support required to ensure the victims make a full recovery after their traumatic ordeal.
He also paid tribute to the civilians and military personnel who lost their lives during the rescue operation, describing their sacrifice as heroic and assuring residents that their deaths would not be in vain.
The Governor offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the deceased and asked God to grant strength and comfort to their families during this difficult period.
The pupils and teachers regained their freedom following a coordinated security operation involving the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, bringing an end to over two months of captivity and rekindling hope for their families and the people of Oyo State.
