The pupils and teachers who were abducted in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have regained their freedom following a security operation.
The development was confirmed on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, through a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account.
According to Onanuga, the victims were successfully rescued by security agencies after days in captivity.
"Finally, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies," he wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities had not disclosed the circumstances surrounding the rescue, including whether any ransom was paid or the specific operation that led to the victims' release.
