OPOMULERO GROUP FIRES BACK AT SOLA AJISAFE, SAYS AIYEDATIWA'S PERFORMANCE OUTSHINES POLITICAL ATTACKS

The Opomulero Group has dismissed allegations contained in an article written by legal practitioner, Oloroogun Sola Ajisafe, describing the publication as a politically motivated commentary intended to undermine the leadership of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

In a statement signed by its Director General, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori Michael, the group said the article, titled "Clean Hands, Dirty Process: Aiyedatiwa and the APC Crisis in Ondo," relied on allegations without presenting sufficient verifiable evidence and should be regarded as political opinion rather than an objective legal analysis.

According to the statement, Governor Aiyedatiwa became Governor through the constitutional process of succession before subsequently receiving the mandate of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the people of Ondo State through a democratic election. The group maintained that the Governor's legitimacy is constitutional, legal, and electoral.

The Opomulero Group argued that internal disagreements are common within political parties, particularly during candidate selection processes, and should not be interpreted as evidence of leadership failure. It added that Governor Aiyedatiwa has continued to provide leadership while ensuring that governance remains uninterrupted despite political challenges.

Responding to claims that the Governor imposed candidates or weakened party structures, the group maintained that decisions within the APC are taken through the party's constitution and recognised decision-making organs. It said attributing every internal party development to one individual ignores the collective nature of the party's processes.

The statement further noted that genuine reconciliation within the APC requires all stakeholders to prioritise the interest of the party above personal ambitions, warning that selective criticism of one individual could deepen divisions instead of promoting unity.

Highlighting the administration's record, the group stated that Governor Aiyedatiwa has made notable progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education, workers' welfare, rural development, security, youth empowerment and economic growth within his first year in office. It said these achievements remain the administration's primary focus rather than prolonged political disputes.

The group also expressed concern over what it described as coordinated efforts by some political actors and their supporters to create unnecessary divisions within the Ondo State chapter of the APC through media campaigns and political narratives.

It further alleged that repeated public exchanges involving supporters of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, have not contributed positively to the unity of the party, urging all APC stakeholders to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda and work towards strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Reaffirming its position, the Opomulero Group described Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as the recognised leader of the APC in Ondo State and expressed confidence that he would continue to work with party stakeholders to consolidate unity and position the party for success in future elections.

The group also called on political commentators to ensure that public discourse is guided by fairness, factual accuracy and constructive engagement rather than narratives capable of creating unnecessary political tension.

It concluded by reiterating its unwavering support for Governor Aiyedatiwa, stating that no amount of political propaganda, sponsored publications or media attacks would distract him from delivering good governance and consolidating his administration's achievements for the people of Ondo State.
