ONDO STATE STAYS FLOOD-RESILIENT AS EBIJIMI CREDITS AIYEDATIWA'S PROACTIVE INTERVENTIONS
Ondo State has remained largely resilient amid widespread flooding reported in several parts of Nigeria this rainy season, with the state's ongoing flood prevention and ecological management efforts highlighted as key contributing factors.
Speaking during an interview with NTA Akure, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical and Ecological Control, Hon. Engr. Elisha Ebijimi, commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for prioritising measures aimed at preventing flooding and addressing ecological challenges across the state.
Ebijimi said the administration's proactive approach to environmental management has helped reduce the impact of heavy rainfall, noting that while many states have recorded severe flooding, Ondo State has remained largely unaffected. He attributed this to strategic interventions implemented by the state government to safeguard lives, property, and critical infrastructure.
He also reaffirmed the government's commitment to sustaining ecological projects and flood mitigation initiatives in vulnerable communities, stressing that preventive measures remain a priority under Governor Aiyedatiwa's administration.
The interview, aired on NTA Akure, focused on the state's environmental management strategies and ongoing efforts to strengthen resilience against flooding.
