ARSENAL AGREE DEAL TO SELL LEANDRO TROSSARD TO BESIKTAS


Arsenal have reached an agreement with Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Belgian forward Leandro Trossard, with the move now awaiting the successful completion of a medical and other transfer formalities.

The Premier League champions confirmed the agreement in an official statement on Tuesday, revealing that Trossard has been granted permission to travel to Istanbul to finalize the transfer.

"We can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard," Arsenal said.

The club added that the 31-year-old forward will undergo a medical before completing the necessary paperwork, noting that a further announcement will be made once the transfer is officially concluded.

Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion during the January 2023 transfer window in a deal reportedly worth £27 million, including add-ons. During his time at the Emirates Stadium, he became an important member of Mikel Arteta's squad.

The Belgian international played a key role in Arsenal's successful 2025/26 Premier League title-winning campaign, helping the club secure its first English top-flight crown in 22 years. He also won the 2023 FA Community Shield and featured prominently in Arsenal's run to the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League final.

On the international stage, Trossard impressed for Belgium at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring twice against New Zealand during the group stage as the Red Devils advanced to the quarter-finals before losing 2-1 to eventual finalists Spain.

Besiktas also signalled the imminent completion of the transfer by publishing photos of the winger's arrival in Istanbul with the caption, "Leandro Trossard arrives in Istanbul."

Once the medical and contractual processes are completed, Trossard will officially become a Besiktas player, bringing an end to his successful spell with Arsenal.
