'THEY COOKED RICE FOR US, AND WHENEVER IT WAS ABOUT TO RAIN, THEY COVERED US WITH NYLON' — RELEASED ORIIRE ABDUCTEE RECOUNTS ORDEAL IN KIDNAPPERS' DEN


One of the victims recently rescued after being abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State has recounted his experience during captivity, describing how the kidnappers treated them while they were held in the forest.

Speaking after his release, Ridwan said the abductors provided them with rice to eat and attempted to shield them from the rain by covering them with nylon whenever the weather changed.

According to him, despite these actions, the victims endured fear, uncertainty, and harsh conditions throughout their time in captivity as they waited for rescue.

Ridwan's account comes after security operatives successfully rescued the abducted pupils and teachers who were kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area, bringing relief to their families and communities after weeks in captivity.

The rescue operation involved multiple security agencies and was welcomed by residents and government officials, who commended the efforts that led to the safe return of the victims.

Authorities have continued investigations into the incident and are expected to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible for the abduction.
