AIYEDATIWA APPOINTS FORMER DEPUTY SPEAKER IROJU AS SPECIAL ADVISER, NAMES NEW SSAs AND SAs


Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of former Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ogundeji Iroju, as Special Adviser on Legislative Matters.

The Governor also approved the appointment of the first batch of new Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) as part of efforts to strengthen his administration and enhance coordination across various areas of governance.

Among those appointed as Senior Special Assistants are Mr. Olaoluwa Adesanya, SSA on Inter-Party Affairs; Seyi Lawrence Aletile, SSA on Entertainment and Tourism; Adekunle Orisamoluwa, SSA on Support Groups Activities; and Hon. Favour Semilore Tomomewo, SSA on Public Health.

Mrs. Temilola Odetola was also appointed as Special Assistant on Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).

The appointments form part of the first batch of new political appointments approved by the Governor. Other Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants included in the first batch are contained in the accompanying list released by the state government.

The appointments are expected to support the administration’s coordination of political, legislative, social and stakeholder-related activities across the state.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday, September 14, 2026, by Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State.

ONDO GOVT ORDERS TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF SELECTED SCHOOLS AHEAD OF STATE ASSEMBLY ELECTION The Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has announced the temporary closure of selected public primary and secondary schools across the state ahead of the Ondo State House of Assembly election scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2026. According to a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, the affected schools are those designated as polling centres for the election across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state. The Ministry directed learners, teachers, and other staff members in the affected schools to remain at home on election day as part of measures to ensure the safety of lives and property and to support a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
