AKINOLA SEGUN CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY WITH MESSAGE OF PEACE, HOPE AND DEVELOPMENT FOR ILE-OLUJI

As he marked his birthday, Akinola Segun, a proud son of Odolua in Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, has used the occasion to celebrate his roots while calling on young people to embrace peace, shun social vices, and contribute meaningfully to the development of their community.

In a heartfelt birthday message, Akinola described Ile-Oluji as more than his place of birth, saying the town remains the foundation upon which his values and character were built.

According to him, Odolua represents history, culture, and community, where he learned the importance of respecting elders, sharing with others, resolving conflicts peacefully, and living a life of discipline and integrity.

He noted that although his connection to Ile-Oluji is through his maternal lineage, the town remains his ancestral root and will always hold a special place in his heart.

Addressing the youth, Akinola urged them to reject cultism, internet fraud, drug abuse, and other social vices capable of destroying promising futures. He encouraged them to pursue education, hard work, honesty, and good character, stressing that a good name remains more valuable than temporary gains.

He also appealed to residents to promote peaceful coexistence, stating that no community can experience meaningful development without unity. He urged young people to become ambassadors of peace and to avoid actions capable of creating division within the town.

Speaking on the dangers of substance abuse, he warned that drug addiction has ruined many dreams and families, encouraging youths to protect their future by staying away from illicit drugs and making responsible life choices.

Reflecting on his childhood memories, Akinola recalled visiting his grandmother at the Farm Settlement, where he witnessed cocoa farmers working tirelessly, children playing freely, and families living in love and harmony. He described those experiences as lasting reminders of the values that define the people of Ile-Oluji.

He also paid tribute to his late grandfather, Pa Akinyele Kola, whose act of donating land and financial support for the construction of a Celestial Church of Christ building inspired his lifelong commitment to generosity and community service.

According to him, the spirit of giving is deeply rooted in the culture of Ile-Oluji, adding that the community has always been known for compassion, unity, and looking after one another.

Reaffirming his commitment to the town, Akinola pledged to continue supporting initiatives that promote the peace, growth, and development of Ile-Oluji.

He concluded with prayers for the community, asking God to continue raising great sons and daughters from Ile-Oluji while granting lasting peace and prosperity to Odolua and every part of the town.
