AKINYELURE HIGHLIGHTS OVER 750 FEDERAL EMPLOYMENT INTERVENTIONS IN ONDO CENTRAL




Senator Ayo Akinyelure, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) senatorial candidate for Ondo Central, has highlighted the employment of more than 750 graduates from the senatorial district into various Federal Government institutions as part of his record of representation.

Akinyelure made the claim while addressing the people of Ondo Central ahead of the 2027 general election, urging residents to examine the records, programmes and proposals of all candidates seeking to represent the district at the National Assembly.

According to the former senator, the employment intervention benefited graduates from across the six local government areas that make up Ondo Central Senatorial District.

He said the beneficiaries were employed into various Federal Government ministries, departments and agencies, parastatals and other institutions.

Akinyelure described the intervention as more than a numerical achievement, saying the opportunities enabled beneficiaries to build careers, support their families and contribute to the development of their communities.

The ADC candidate said the employment intervention formed part of his broader constituency activities during his years representing Ondo Central in the 7th and 9th Senates.

He added that various projects and interventions were facilitated and supported across the six local government areas during his tenure, with the stated objective of addressing some of the needs of constituents.

Akinyelure, who left the Senate in 2023, said he had remained committed to public service and was presenting his previous record to constituents as the 2027 election approaches.

He stressed that his record should be subjected to public scrutiny and verification, describing it as a basis for constituents to assess his previous representation.

“I have remained committed to public service even after leaving the Senate in 2023. I am therefore presenting my record to you as we approach the 2027 election. This is not a claim of perfection but a record you can examine, question and verify,” he said.

The former senator also referred to expressions of support from some beneficiaries of his previous interventions, noting that some had reportedly donated campaign materials and identified with his aspiration to return to the Senate.

However, Akinyelure said the forthcoming election should not be centred solely on his candidacy.

He encouraged other candidates seeking the mandate of Ondo Central residents to present their records, programmes and plans for the senatorial district.

According to him, voters should have the opportunity to examine available records, compare the proposals of the candidates and make their decisions based on the information before them.

“I have served before, I have a record to present and I am prepared to be held accountable for it,” Akinyelure said, reaffirming his commitment to Ondo Central.

The 2027 senatorial contest is expected to provide voters in Ondo Central with an opportunity to assess the records, policy proposals and priorities of the various candidates seeking to represent the district at the National Assembly.
